Unfortunately, my long hair dreams didn’t quiet add to camera-ready locks. The streaming Rapunzel locks of my dreams looked like frayed rope in truth. You might have been in a very similar position. Postponing haircuts hpoing you will have long hair only to find your hair is dry and fragile, and those annoying split ends have actually taken over.

Split ends

Let me begin by stating that when hair has actually split, there is no way of  magically fusing it back together. While a haircut is the only way to get rid of existing split ends, there are things you can do to help prevent future split ends and make split ends appear less horrible till you get your hair cut. If your hair is dry, brittle, and susceptible to snapping, keep on reading!

Firstly, here’s what split ends are and are not.

A few split ends here or there shouldn’t be the reason to rush to  your hairdresser. Hairs can fray and split for a plethora of factors.Longer hair has been exposed to the elements for longer amount of times, indicating it is more susceptible. Just like skin, hair becomes less tolerant of heat and harsh chemicals as it grows older. The odd split end (specifically in long hair) is something everybody with hair has to deal with.

With all of this in mind, the issue isn’t whether you have split ends (spoiler alert: you most likely do!) it is the number of split ends you have. Here are two quick tests you can take:

● If you get a patch of your hair and can see several split ends, your hair is likely in requirement of some nutrition.
● If your split ends resemble Y’s, you have one of the most basic kind of split end and might benefit from some hair nourishment. If your split ends look like trees with several branches coming off, your hair is in dire need of nourishment!

For me, I understood my split ends were troublesome when I saw that the bottom quarter of my hair looked just like hay. Rough, frayed, fragile hay. Not  the look I was going for! Although my hair was at last the length I had always wanted, it wasn’t beautiful hair. I need to find a solution. This is where my my Valotin haircare regimen for split ends came in.

Enter my split end system

As a cardholder of the long hair club, my hair is a big source of pride for me. The goal of my system was simple: long, beautiful locks. Here’s how I worked to accomplish it:

● Strengthen my hair to assist avoid breakage
● Smooth down cuticles to avoid the worsening of splits
● Educating myself on the active ingredients in my haircare
● Cutting back on things that were injuring my hair

The primary step of the system: restore my hair

How I salvaged my hair with Valotin’s Strengthening System

A defining day in my haircare journey was the day I was touching my hair strands one snapped the minute I touched it. The hair had a bend and a lighter area at the bend. A simple touch caused the lock to detach. I now understand that the light spot at the bend was a weak frayed spot waiting to break. It was at this point I recognized that whatever I was presently doing simply wasn’t working.

In truth, I didn’t know much about what was included in my supermarket shampoo & conditioner. I

found Valotin when attempting to find out what “Polyquaternium-10” was. Valotin had a helpful page that noted all active ingredients and what the components are consisted of for. I found this so helpful in my haircare journey

Step 1. Valotin Strengthening Shampoo (1x each week)

At the end of week 1 I treat myself to a deep clean of my hair to remove some of the accumulation that has collected.
For shampoos, I recommend trying to find one that has the power behind it to actually get rid of accumulation and grease along with something to treat the scalp.
Hair styling products, scalp oils, and dust from the environment can all build up in hair if left to their own devices. This buildup can weigh hair down and dry it out, triggering breakage. This is why it is essential to look for shampoos that consist of cleaning active ingredients.

Valotin Strengthening Shampoo consists of Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, a surfactant developed by coconut oil developed to cleanse hair. Although the name sounds deceptive, this is not a sulfate. I find this cleanser isn’t too harsh yet leaves hair feeling fresh and clean.

This hair shampoo also consists of disodium laureth sulfosuccinate, another ingredient that seems like a sulfate however isn’t. Sulfates are extreme and annoying because they are made from small molecules that break into  the skin.. Compare this to DLS which is a large molecule that can’t permeate into the scalp and skin lowering irritation.

I also suggest looking for ingredients that treat  the scalp. In your hair care system, shampooing is the only time you include the item to your scalp. It’s easy to ignore your scalp, in spite of how important it is to growing gorgeous locks.

Among my favorite ingredients in Valotin Strengthening Shampoo is aloe vera leaf juice. Part of aloe vera’s recovery power when it pertains to burns is applying it topically supports blood circulation to an area. When applied to the scalp, blood circulation supports healthy hair growth. When looking at other aloe vera hair shampoos, ensure that yours includes aloe vera juice instead of powder to experience the complete effects.

Step 2. Valotin Strengthening Conditioner (3x weekly).

Using a quality conditioner is  crucial in dealing with dry hair. A great conditioner does so much more than simply make hair appearance glossy. It can also moisturize and reinforce hair to assist prevent future breaks. Something I like about Valotin Strengthening Conditioner is it leaves my hair literally smooth. The formula uses silk protein which is understood to assist in healing split ends by sticking separated parts of the hair cortex together.

This conditioner also uses eleven amino acids, which are the foundation of protein. For those who aren’t conscious, hair is a tough protein, which is why amino acids can be so practical in enhancing and repairing hair. I am a big fan of using cetyl and stearyl alcohol. It is a common misunderstanding that alcohols are bad for hair. In reality, some alcohols are terrific for hair consisting of fatty alcohols. These alcohols smooth down damaged cuticles and reinforce hair.

For hair that is rather dry, you might benefit from conditioning more regularly than shampooing. I’ve found my sweet spot with my routine was shampooing once a week and conditioning 3 times a week. Your best ratio will depend on your hair’s type, density, and porousness. The best way to discover your ratio is by experimentation.

Step 3. Valotin Strengthening Serum (3x weekly)

This!!!! This is what changed everything. I nearly didn’t purchase the Strengthening Serum, butI am so happy I did . I was originally going to simply grab the hair shampoo & conditioner, however when I saw the deep conditioning bundle, I thought why not!

This serum is amazing. It is enhanced with necessary oils, however not many that your hair is weighed down. Among these is coconut oil, typically thought about the very best necessary oil for keeping hair looking healthy.

Valotin’s Strengthening Serum also includes many flowers and plants. Chamomile flower, lemon balm, sage leaf, and aloe vera are just a few of the botanical extracts consisted of. This is excellent for those who prefer natural components in their hair care.

Some people take advantage of utilizing serum after every wash whereas others gain from a little bit of time in between serum uses. As soon as once again, your perfect use depends on your special hair.
I found out that by using serum simply three times a week prevents the product from buidling up in my hair while making the bottle last longer than more frequent use. Do what is best for your hair.

Step 4. Cut out what is holding you back

They say insanity is doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results! It’s like changing your toothpaste but continuing to drink soda every day. I’m not suggesting you grow out your natural color or ditch your preferred styling tool. After all, working towards healthy hair has to do with feeling great about your hair. Do whatever makes you feel great – but in moderation.
If you feel as though you should color your locks, consider a darker color instead of bleach.

Consider a low maintenance design like balayage, or a shorter slice.  Another idea is to use your hair up on the days you don’t utilize heat. Another crucial element to consider is your diet.  Hair looks its best when it is put the eat healthily.

So long silky hair can be achieved !My Valotin haircare regimen for split ends went a long way for me in attaining strong hair that shines and is glossy. Yet for all of the hard work your shampoo & conditioner does, don’t forget lifestyle, diet, styling tools, and a good hair cut play a huge part. It is all worth it in the end to have hair you are happy with and proud of.
