When you finally manage to escape the grind for a week or two to a destination you have two options. You can either find an adventure and let out all of that pent-up energy, or you can sit in the sunshine and do absolutely nothing. If you are hoping to do the latter for at least part of your vacation then there are a few places that will cater to this need perfectly.
Of course, there are a few essential components to being able to do nothing at all and enjoy it. The first is good weather, because it is always better to do nothing outside rather than being stuck indoors. The second is delicious food – this needs no explanation. And, the final element is beautiful scenery.

Let’s take a look at some of the places that fit the bill.
Corfu, Greece
Corfu has everything you could possibly want from a holiday destination. The sun shines down upon the island for the majority of the year, the people are friendly, and the food is to die for. On top of all of that, the island is surrounded by the sparkling Mediterranean Sea, which invites you in with its warm water. Spend your days in Corfu lying on the beach and taking a dip in the sea whenever you need to cool off. This is the perfect place to recharge your batteries.
Caye Caulker, Belize
This tiny island is located just off of mainland Belize and is accessible by boat from Belmopan. Once on the island there is very little to do other than enjoy the sunshine and the atmosphere. At the end of the main strip is a bar called the Lazy Lizard with a wooden deck that overhangs the ocean. Here, you will find holiday-makers lounging in the sun while they sip a beverage or two. In the evenings treat yourself to a freshly caught lobster for dinner, followed by cake from the local cake lady who sells her treats in the street.
Prince Edward Island, Canada
Prince Edward Island is an incredibly scenic part of eastern Canada, known for being the setting of the famous Anne of Green Gables. The island comprises beaches of red sand that morph into rugged cliffs, covered with grass. Maintaining a traditional feel, Prince Edward Island offers rural living at its finest. Simply wander around the island and take in the natural beauty during the day and then feast on fresh seafood in the evenings.
Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica
The ultimate do-nothing travel destination, Puerto Viejo will captivate your heart and soul. Situated in the South of Costa Rica, on the border with Panama, this town has a lazy feel. The combination of reggaeton tunes floating through the air, the endless sunshine, the beautiful beach and the notable Caribbean vibe make this place inherently chilled.
Kampot, Cambodia
Away from the crowds of Vietnam and Thailand, Kampot is a quiet seaside town overlooking the Gulf of Thailand. The ancient temples that pepper the landscape here are perfect for exploring as you meander through the streets. If even that is too much for you, there are plenty of hammocks around just waiting for someone to lie in them. Grab a banana juice from a street vendor and curl up in the sunshine for a while. You don’t have to spend your entire vacation here, but Kampot will be waiting for you when you need to relax.
